Wolfpack Win Hard Fought Battle Against Cayuga On Sunday Night
The Peewee AE, made the long drive to Cayuga on Sunday night, and came home with 2 hard earned points.
Having finishing the regular season in 1st place, the peewee ae now found themselves in the "C" division of the rep league for their league playoffs. Being an AE team, we weren't sure what to expect when we faced off against 1 of the rep teams that we'll being facing, but like I've told the boys all year, if we play as a team and battle, we can beat anyone, and we did just that.
It was a good fast paced game, and the play went back and fourth, with the Wolfpack gaining the edge in zone time, puck possession, and shots on goal, but just like Lucas R, the Cayuga goalie was on his game, and it became clear that this was going to be a low scoring affair.
Paris opened the scoring in the 2nd, and added another shortly after to go up 2-0. Our first goal was scored on the power play. Noah S, scored with assists going to Tyler A, and Alex B, as the 3 kept Cayuga pinned in their zone and played a perfect power play. Our 2nd goal looked like a thing of beauty, as Luke B, let the shot go from the point, Noah S, then made a perfect through the legs tip pass over to Owen H, who 1 timed the shot past the Stars tender.
In the 3rd, Cayuga came out strong and really pressed to try and get the gamed tied, but excellent goaltending and timely saves from Lucas R, and a solid shut down period lead the Wolfpack to a 2-1 win. Player of the game went to Luke B, with a strong defensive game.
Next up is a game in Ayr on Tuesday night as we kick off our OMHA playdowns.
