Wolfpack Fall To Ingersoll, But Bounce Back Against Simcoe!
The Paris Wolfpack peewee ae team, made the trip down the 403 to Ingersoll to face off against the Express, but didn't realize our biggest challenge was going to be the guys in the zebra jersey's.
The game started out as expected, as these two power house teams battled it out trying to get the upper hand. It looked like it was going to be a great game to be a part of.....then the refs showed up! Clearly having somewhat of a personal interest in the outcome of this game, every time Paris started to get some momentum, the refs would find any reason to put a Paris player in the box. Penalties in the game were 13-2, and even with some "kind" words of encouragement from coach Chris and coach Ken, still didn't seem to convince the refs to start reffing the game that's happening in front of them and not the one going on in their heads. The boys played their hearts out, and the fact we were short handed 12 times, and only lost 2-1, shows the kind of team we have. Our lone goal was scored by, Austin P, with the assist going to Tyler G. The player of the game went to Matthew L.
Back in Paris on Friday night, we welcomed Simcoe to town. Looking to bounce back from the night before, the Wolfpack came out, guns a blazing and ready to send a message. The boys played one of their best games this year. There were some really nice passing plays, and some great defensive work, that lead to quality scoring chances. The Simcoe goalie showed up ready to play, and he was looking to steal the show. With save after save, he was doing his part to give his team a chance, but with the firepower and determination of the Wolfpack, eventually we were able to break through and skate our way to a 5-2 victory. Excellent effort all around. Goals were scored by, Austin P with 2, Julian V, Alex B, and Owen H. Assists by, Noah S with 2, Tyler A, Caiden G, Owen T, Nathan M, and Luke B. Player of the game went to Austin P.
Next up we go for "silver" when we play the Ayr Silver Stick Tournament this weekend...
