Wolfpack Looking To Lock Up 1st Place!
The Peewee AE played 3 games over the weekend, and came away with 5 points out of a possible 6, to sit alone on top of the standings heading into the last week of the regular season.
1st up we hosted the 2nd place Tillsonburg Tornadoes. Lucas R, who of late has been lights out in net, had another strong game for us, and held the Tornadoes to just 2 goals, as the Wolfpack skated to a 4-2 victory. Goals were scored by, Alex B, Caiden G, Noah S, and Tyler A, with assists to, Luke B, Tyler A with 2, Austin P, Owen T, and Owen H, player of the game went to Tyler A.
Next up was a home and home with the Ayr Flames. In Ayr on Saturday night, and for some reason this Ayr team seems to give our boys headaches, as we just can't seem to find the back of the net. It was a game that for the most part, we dominated, but those post just kept getting in the way. In the end, we settled for the tie, and left Ayr with 1 point, playing to a 2-2 final. Goals by, Tyler G, and Julian V, with the assists going to Owen T, and Noah S, player of the game went to Owen T.
Sunday afternoon, back in Paris, we were looking for the whole 2 points. Again we played most of the game controlling the puck and playing in the Flames zone, but a lack of shots, or just an unwillingness to shoot from our boys left the game up for grabs. In the end we were finally able to net a couple and hold Ayr off, as the Wolfpack skated to a 2-1 victory. Goals by, Matt L, and Austin P, with assists to Tyler A with 2. Player of the game went to Owen H.
Next up we travel to Caledonia on Wednesday night, then end the season at home as we welcome the Tillsonburg Tornadoes to town.
