Paris Wolfpack Tyke wins "Red" division at the "Art Coombs Memorial Tournament"
From the desk of Trainer Kirk...

On Sunday January 29th our boys played three games in total in the tournament. All three games were full of excitement, with the final outcome winning the "Red" division of the Tyke Teams. Our boys were presented with the Champions trophy and received medals for their efforts. All around the boys had a great time. They received a tee shirt, a hoodie sweater displaying the Wolfpack logo.....and wearing them proudly.

Game #1 - Paris 4, Dorchester 1.

Our boys came ready to play. Tyler Hicks put us on the board in the first period with a pass from Griffin Novak, Cameron Stewart then added to the total for the first period by adding another goal un-assissted. End of the first, 2-0 Paris.
Period #2 saw Tyler Hicks adding to his goal count by burying one unassisted, followed by a great goal from Dawson Atkinson assisted by Drew Warren (who dodged a flying stick to make the pass).  End of the second, 4-0 Paris.
Period #3 Our boys kicked their defensive prowess into full gear and held off any scoring by Dorchester until the final 1:30 seconds of the game. Callum "The Cat" Dailey had his shut out taken away by a bad bounce in front. "The Cat" had once again stood on his head for his team.
The Game Puck went to Tyler Hicks as the opposing coaching staff named him the game MVP. Congrats Tyler!!

Game #2 - Paris 1, Hagersville (Teal) 1

This game the boys started a little sluggish, (might have been the running around the arena prior to game. lol!) Hagersville came to play and the result was our boys were down 1-0 by the end of the first.
Period #2 saw the boys wake up and start putting in an effort that rewarded them with a goal form Cameron Stewart. The game was in a back and forth battle now!!
Period #3 gave an opportunity for our boys to try their power play skills with a penalty to Hagersville for tripping, however it was not to be and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Game puck went to Cameron Stewart, way to go Cameron!!

Game #3 - Paris 4, Hagersville (Teal) 1

Another shot at Hagersville (Teal), this time it was for the trophy......Our boys were pumped and ready, they wanted to win. There was no scoring in the first period of play showing just how evenly matched these two teams were. Period #2 saw Paris striking first with a goal from Drew Warren, with another one added from Aidan Darling (who had the fans in stitches with his dancing on his back excitement for the goal). Hagersville had responded by adding one of their own. By the end of the second it was Paris 2, Hagersville . The championship was still up for grabs!! Period #3 was full of excitement for both sides, it was still a close game. Cameron Stewart helped put some tension at ease by adding another goal in the third. Make the final.....3-1 Paris and the celebration was on!!
The Game puck went to Aidan Darling, he worked very hard and it was well deserved!!

I would like to take some time to thank all of the parents, coaching staff, and the PMHA for putting on an excellent tournament and providing first class facilities for the visiting teams and parents to enjoy!

Great job by all involved, Thanks again,
Kirk MacKenzie, Trainer.
