Paris Wolfpack Tykes travels to Beverly to face the Bandits.

On Saturday February 18th our boys travelled to the Rockton Arena to face the Beverly Bandits and what an eye opener they got.......
Drew Warren opened the scoring for Paris at 7:54 of the first period, continued his strong play and was rewarded with another goal with :51 seconds left in the first period. Callum "The Cat" Dailey mad key saves throughout the period to keep the visitors to a single goal on a bad bounce (again). End of the 1st, Paris 2, Beverly 1.
The second period saw more great saves from The Cat, pucks were shot on the ice, in the air and everywhere in between trying to beat our net minder. Dawson Atkinson went hard to the net and bashed in a goal at the 7:47 mark. Griffin Novak has been filing in on the point and was stellar all game, he made a great defensive play to stop the attack and then got the puck to Drew Warren who added agoal 22 seconds later to complete the Hat Trick!!! End of the 2nd, Paris 4, Beverly 1.
All was going well to that point.....However......The worst tasting pie you can eat? Humble Pie! Our boys relaxed and thought that the lead was safe. The opposing team did not feel the same way. Beverly did not take long to score in the third period, 16 seconds to be exact. Then another, then another, then another. All of a sudden the game was tied with 8 minutes still to play. beverly continued to press our boys hard and the goals kept coming. At the end of the game, Paris was defeated 7-4.
This was a great learning opportunity for the boys though. They now understand that a game of hockey lasts the entire game and no lead is safe. Hard work from the drop of the puck to the final buzzer is necessary to keep any lead safe. Overall the boys did have a good game. Next game is Thursday February 23rd against Hagersville at 6pm in Paris.
