Paris record now at 5 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie....
From the bench of Trainer Kirk:
On Thursday night this week the Paris Tyke Wolfpack Team had their hands full with a good squad from Port Dover. Our boys looked a little sluggish to start the game but would rise to the challenge by the end of the first period... The majority of the game was close but in the final minutes of the 3rd we were down 4-2 so we pulled the goalie and sent out Drew W as our extra attacker... it was an gripping few minutes but we came up short. The final score, 6-2 for Port Dover...
Our first goal was from Griffin Novak, "Mr. right place, right time" planted himself in front of Port Dover's net all night, (and good things always happen when you go to the net) and had the puck deflected off his skate and into the back of the goal. Goal number two came from a pretty potent combination! Tyler Hicks planted one in the back of the net with authority with a pass from Mason Munro.
Once again, strong play from Callum "the Cat" Dailey in between the pipes proved a tough challenge for Port Dover. "The Cat" had many key saves throughout all three periods of play keeping the boys in it. Watching the game, a few more bounces our way... this story might have been written a little differently.
Our boys are gearing up for the "Art Coombs Memorial Tournament" on Sunday January 29th. As it happens... they may get another shot at Port Dover.
