Blades Double Up Wolfpack in Doug Robinson Memorial Opener
The
home town Lincoln Blades doubled up the Paris Wolfpack 6-3 in the opening game
of the Atom division at the 31st Annual Doug Robinson Memorial
Tournament on Friday November 20th.
Adam S. got Paris off to the start they were looking for when he picked up a loose puck at the Wolfpack blue line, outraced the Blade’s defenders and scored on a breakaway just 36 seconds into the game. The smooth skating Blades, who sport a 16-3-1 record at this point in the season, took control of the game, scoring twice in the first, once in the second and once more early in the 3rd to build a 4-1. The Wolfpack weren’t about to quit and Joshua S. narrowed the lead to 4-2 with an unassisted goal with 3:34 remaining in the game. Just over a minute later, Tyler A., assisted by defenseman Kyle C. and Ryan O., found the back of the net on the power play to bring Paris within a single goal. The comeback attempt was short lived as the Blades scored twice in the final 90 seconds of the game to put the game out of reach.
