Captain Cloud comes back with a boom
After being sidelined for 3 months due to injury the midget reps got some well needed leadership back in the room and on the ice as captain cloud (Sam M) made is season debut in st. George last night.
The Midgets would eventual fall to a strong st George team but not for lack of effort. after being down early in the third period by a score of 5-2 the midget boys would come all the way back to make it 5-4, and with under a minute to go and pressing hard st George finally got the puck out of their own end and netted an empty nester. Captain cloud was here there and everywhere on the ice and in the dressing room, potting one goal and adding two assists. When interviewed after the game he was asked how he felt and his response with a big grin was I'm here to take these boys to the promise land. He was able to relax the boys a little between periods by letting one rip and getting some of the boys fired up including Preston B(burrrrr that st George arena is cold) who had an outstanding third period flying everywhere on the ice. When reporters asked captain cloud were he got his wind breaking abilities from his response was my old man can let them rip with the best of them. Cam S took the loss in net but made several huge saves as the paris boys were outshot early. He's sassy in that net. Kyle K playing on a line with captain cloud had an excellent game as well, making and taking big hits to make plays, The brothers grim Austin R and Zach R, were all over the ice as well scoring one each, they didn't get robbed that's for sure. With Gavin O out of the line up due to a suspension for biting off an opponents ear, the team was down to two centers, Victor V and Alex R, both played exceptionally well at both ends of the ice, It was rumoured a scout from the Chech Republic elite hockey league was in the crowd scouting, asking several questions about victor V. 6'3 260lb power forward Jake Z was feeling under the weather in this contest but battled hard when he was out there. Zach K had to sit this one out with a lower body injury and his offence and speed would have been a factor had he been in the lineup. With standout defenceman Cullen K out of the line up with an upper body injury the boys were down to 5 defence. Jayden C unleashed several bullets from the point on the power play and only looked at the rafters from the ice one(the kid plays hard). Mountie Call up Parker C was his smooth skating self out there, with several people in the crowd saying the kid looks like a young paul coffee. He cut four inches off his hair and added 2mph to his skating. Jordan P who's height and weight are not listed on his hockey card plays game in game out as if he was 6'6 300lbs. the kid is fearless, had another solid game, playing along side Aiden C(soups on) who also plays fearless game in game out, and is in the early running for most improved with his game coming along way from the start to now. And last but not least on Defence was this reporters favourite player mad dog Dillan O. No one messes with this kid he hits like a sub and defends all his teammates fearlessly. Michael H was the back up goalier in this one has he just came off an impressive tournament in parry sound, playing 4 straight games posting a save percentage of .989. Speaking of parry sound there were reports of a half naked monkey in the midget teams hotel running around scaring everyone in site.
