Wolfpack Edge Warriors in OMHA Playdown Opener
The Paris Wolfpack drew first blood in their OMHA playdown series against the Simcoe Warriors edging the Warriors 5-4 on Sunday January 15th in Simcoe.

Paris captain Matt F. opened the scoring 76 seconds into the first period on the power play with a wrist shot from the face off dot that handcuffed the Warrior goalie. Gavin M. and Nick R. drew assists.  Simcoe rallied 5 minutes later to send the game tied at 1-1 into the second period.

James D. picked up his first of the night with 6 minutes remaining in the second converting a perfect feed from Matt on a 2 on 1 rush. Owen L. also drew an assist on the play. Less than 1 minute later, Will M. banged in a loose puck in the crease to put Paris up 3-1. Line mates Josh S. and Kruz K. picked up assists for working the puck to the front of the net. Simcoe would respond less than 1 minute later to narrow the gap to 3-2.  James would pick up his second goal of the game with just under 3 minutes to go in the second period taking a pass from Gavin M. in the high slot and sending a quick wrist shot into the back of the net. With Paris short-handed to end the period, Thomas K. would increase the Paris lead to 5-2 when he outworked the Warrior defenseman in the corner and tucked a wrap-around into the net. Simcoe would still respond on the power play to put the score at 5-3 heading into the 3rd period.

After the referee sent Paris defenseman Nick R. to the box on a very questionable call with 5 minutes remaining in the 3rd period, Simcoe would close the gap to 5-4 with a power play goal.  The Warriors would go on the power play again with 78 seconds remaining in the game but Paris defended the 6 on 4 perfectly to close out the win.
