The
Paris Wolfpack were eliminated in the OMHA Quarter Finals following a hard
fought 2-1 loss to the Ingersoll Express on Monday February 6th in
Ingersoll.
Ingersoll started strong from the opening puck drop, scoring on a goal mouth scramble 59 seconds into the first period. The Express had the Wolfpack on their heels for the remainder of the first but some stellar goaltending by Max kept the deficit to a single goal heading in to the second period. The Wolfpack came to life in the second period holding territorial advantage over the Express and pushing the pace of the play but could not find the back of the net, leaving them down a goal heading into the 3rd period. Paris continued to press the pace of the play in the 3rd period and tied the game when Carson K. picked up a loose puck in the high slot and sent a wrister through traffic into the net. Linemates Will and Josh picked up assists. Paris continued to pressure the Express and looked poised to get the go ahead goal. Unfortunately, with 9 minutes remaining, a broken play led to a breakaway and the go ahead goal for the Express. Paris wouldn’t give up, and continued to push for the tying goal. Despite a number of good scoring chances, Ingersoll was able to hold Paris off the board and clinch the series.
