Wolfpack and Hawks Battle to 2-2 Draw
Playing in the cozy confines of the Hagersville
Memorial arena on Wednesday January 11th, the Paris Wolfpack and the
Hagersville Hawks battled to a 2-2 draw in Southern Counties ‘A’ Division
playoff action.
The Hawks opened the scoring 2:44 into the opening period when a wrist shot from the slot beat a screened Max T. in the Paris net. Paris tied the game just under 6 minutes into the 3rd period when Will M. picked up a loose puck just outside of the Hagersville zone, raced in on a breakaway, deked the goalie and slid the puck through the five hole into the back of the net. Two minutes later, the Hawks regained the lead when they capitalized on a hometown bounce off the end boards which led to a tap in at the side of the net. With 4:39 remaining in the 3rd period, Gavin F. tied the game after streaking down the right wing, lowering his shoulder, cutting to the net and slipping the puck under the Hawks goalie.
