Warriors Edge Wolfpack in SC Playoff Opener
Paris
received solid goaltending from Carson B. but their offense was noticeably
absent as they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Simcoe Warriors in the opening
game of the Southern Counties ‘A’ playoffs on Sunday January 8th in
Simcoe.
Paris started the game strong, hemming the Warriors in their own end for most of the first period. Paris opened the scoring with 4 minutes remaining in the first period when James D. fed line mate Matt F. in the neutral zone and Matt used his speed to skate past the Simcoe defender and generate a breakaway. Matt deked the goalie for the opening goal of the game. Simcoe scored a pair of goals 3 minutes apart in the second period to take a 2-1 lead heading into the final frame. Carson made several outstanding saves in the 3rd to keep his team in it but Paris couldn’t find their offense to tie the game.
