East Lambton Eagles vs. Paris Wolfpack hockey game proves to be the highlight of the Wainfleet tournament
Paris Wolfpack took time out of their upcoming busy Inter Town league schedule to participate in the Wainfleet hockey tournament this past weekend, Jan. 13-15/17.

Wolfpack’s played in 3 guaranteed tournament games that were lined up versus Point Edward Blackhawks, East Lambton Eagles and Beverly Bandits, respectively.

Our team’s highlight of the tournament was our second game against East Lambton Eagles, as it was one of the closest, more evenly, matched games that we have played, in some time.

At the start of the game, both teams played hard, back and forth with little results until 5:05 in the first period when Jackson set up Spencer for the first goal of the game.  This quick lead into the game, provided us with the needed assurance to play harder and renewed belief in our team.  Our team held this lead until the end of the first period, earning us the first point of the game.

Entering the second period our players were looking to build on their momentum and win a second period; unfortunately, the only goals that resulted in the second period came off the sticks of the Eagles players.  By the end of the second period, the Eagles tied up the Wolfpack 1-1 for winning periods and were holding the lead by 2-1.  This would eventually turn around for our team, as we would tie the third period, earning us a half point for tying the third period with the Eagles and giving us a 1.5 points.

With less than 2 minutes remaining in the third period, Jack made a bold rush up the ice from our end to the Eagles zone and scored a pivotal goal for our team; unfortunately, in the process of crashing the net was penalized with Goalie Interference.  With nothing to lose, our team pulled our goalie and put out another skater to the amazement of everyone with Jaden receiving a pass from Spencer to score with 0:17 seconds remaining in the game, ending our game in a 3-3 tie.
