2025-26 U8MD & U9MD Fall TryoutsThe landscape of hockey has changed dramatically with the introduction of free player movement for most cohorts starting in the 2025-2026 season. While most of these changes won't bring significant changes for our PMHA membership. However, the U8 and U9 MD levels will see change with the introduction of free player movement between OMHA centres as well as the ability to run spring evaluations.
The PMHA executive has discussed these impacts to the two cohorts for the 2025-2026 season and have decided that we will run both a U8 and U9 MD team next season. We have also evaluated the merits of running spring tryouts versus the traditional approach of fall evaluations. After careful deliberation, we feel the best path forward is to maintain the current model of fall evaluations for a number of reasons.
Coaching applications are now open for both of these age cohorts and will remain open until April 15th.
We look forward to an exciting and development-filled 2025-2026 season for both of these teams.
