Hockey skills competition Team Fletcher vs. Team Hayden
Mark your calendar for the date of Saturday, Feb. 25/17 at 10:00am for our teams Hockey Skills Competition to be held at the Brant Sports Complex on the Gurney pad.  Skills competition captains Fletcher & Hayden will be choosing players to be on their team, which will guarantee to be an exciting event.

Watch as our Bantam LL3 players challenge one another and compete in the following and more competitions: 1) Skills challenge relay, 2) Four line challenge, 3) Accuracy shooting, 4) Fastest skater – forward, 5) Fastest skater – backwards and 5) Shootout.

If you are wondering if we will have the hardest shot competition this year we won’t be able to this year.  Unfortunately, last year Terry’s radar gun was not able to track the small puck, so the alternative is to have a volunteer coach stand in front of the shots and tell us what shot hurt more to crown our player with the hardest shot on our team.  I am still waiting for a volunteer to come forward.

Should anyone have any ideas and/or equipment to help with our skills competition, please let us know, to help the coaching staff to plan for our team fun event.

This past weekend our team had back to back games with our first game on Saturday in Langton.  Although, our team played hard, for every goal that our Wolfpack team gained the Leafs would double, making our team unable to catch up to the Leafs with a final 6-4 score.  Congrats to Fletcher for two goals and an assist, Spencer and Ian for a goal each and single assists to Evan, Jaden and Liam.

Sunday’s game was a great performance by our team, despite the fact that our team lost the game by a 3-0 respectful finish against Simcoe LL2.  Our players were down on themselves after the game, so coaches had to remind them how well they played and that up into the last period, we were at par with Simcoe with a 0-0 score before entering the third period.

Looking ahead our team has much to get excited about including practices with some guest coaches, our skills competition, the end to our second half league games, exhibition games with teams outside of our league, our hometown Syl Apps tournament and an end of season party.

See you on Saturday for our next practice at 4:40pm.
