PARIS WINS ROB JOHNSTON TOURNAMENT
Paris Wolfpack Peewee Rep team recently competed in our local Rep tournament last weekend and didn't disappoint. The level of competion was excellent as 8 teams from across Northern and Southern Ontario were vying fr 4 spots on Sunday.This was a great oppportunity to see where our team stands early on in the season and what the boys need to work on ging forwards. Paris opened up the tournament against a fast and talented Hanover Falcons team winning 4-2 but lost their 3rd line center Joel Ainslie for the rest of the tournament with a fractured arm. Already down a man faces another challenge as the team learned that our Bull Spencer Cain had come down with a nasty virus and would be out for the rest of the tournament putting Paris down 2 boys. Game 2 saw our boys fly out of the gate never letting up from puck drop to the last whistle winning 12-1 against Wasaga Beach Stars. Game 3 Paris faced off against Mitchell Meteors and again where relentless in their attack peppering their goalie time and time again and were eventually rewarded with a 3-0 lead. Good teams have a way of clawing back and riding their hot goaltender that's exactly what Mitchell did coming out with a 3-3 tie. Having finished the round robin with 2 wins and a tie Paris finished 1st in their pool setting up a semi final match up against a tough Kincardine Kinucks team. Still down 2 boys Paris was up to the task playing a very exciting and entertaining game scoring 2 goals early but got into some penalty troubles putting pressure and stress on a already short bench. Kincardine started pressing and were rewarded with 2 goals of their own tying it at 2, but a relentless Paris team would not give up and wanting it more winning 4-2 and going to the Finals!!!! The finals would be a rematch of the round robin game vs Mitchell Meteors and wouldn't disappoint,both teams couldn't ask for a better finally. Paris came out flying once again but Mitchells goalie was up to the challenge and came up big each and every time. Our boys didn't give up and kept pushing rewarding themselves with a 1-0 lead. The score remained that way until Mitchell tied it up late in the 3rd setting up a thrilling finish in OT!!! Playing 4 on 4 both teams knew what was at stake and knew what needed to be done. Both teams went back and fourth leaving it all on the ice, our goalie Carson Burr was sharp in the extra frame coming up big setting up a great individual effort by Owen Lalonde netting the game winner as the puck just crossed the line resulting in a Paris win!!!! This was a great tournament win and team builder as our team faced adversity from the get go. LETS KEEP IT UP PARIS WOLFPACK
