Wolfpack Drop Back to Back to Express
The Paris Wolfpack dropped both games of a hard fought back to back with the undefeated Ingersoll Express in Southern Counties ‘A’ Division playoff action.  In both contests Ingersoll scored late in the 3rd period to claim a 4-1 victory in Paris on February 13th and a 3-1 victory in Ingersoll on February 16th.

In the opener at the Brant Sports Complex, Ingersoll scored late in the first period and in the opening minute of the second period to take a 2-0 lead.  The Wolfpack would begin to roll in the second period and drew within a goal when Gavin M. forced a turnover deep in the Ingersoll end. James picked up the loose puck and stuffed a wrap-around into the net. The energized Wolfpack squad would push the pace of play for the remainder of the second period and early into the third period before penalty trouble would nullify their attack. Ingersoll scored a pair of power play goals in the final 5 minutes to take the game 4-1.

In the return match in Ingersoll on Thursday February 16th, Paris was determined to hand Ingersoll their first loss in Southern Counties play.  While Paris came out flying in the first, Ingersoll managed to open the scoring with 32 seconds remaining in the first period when a Paris turnover deep in their own end led to a goal. Paris dominated the second period. Thomas tied to game 2 ½ minutes into the second walking out from the corner and snapping a wrist shot past the blocker of the Express goalie. Paris appeared to take the lead minutes later when a loose puck rolling near the goal line was initially called a goal. A review by the officials deemed that the puck did not fully cross the goal line. Undeterred, Paris pressed on hemming the Express in their zone for the remainder of the second period and most of the 3rd period. Ingersoll got the break they were looking for when they were incorrectly awarded a 5 on 3 with 4 minutes remaining in the game and scored on the 2 man advantage to take the lead. Paris pulled goalie Max T. with 1:11 remaining looking to score the equalizer.  Unfortunately, Ingersoll was able to clear the puck with 3 seconds remaining into the empty net to secure the victory.
