Brant Industrial Hockey League Midget Reps Have Strong Showing in Art Coombs Memorial
This past weekend the Paris Midget Reps participated in their local tournament… the Art Coombs Memorial with the focus on building on their strong league play recently.
They came out flying in the first game as they picked up a strong 3-1 victory over South Kent. In their second game they came up against a tough Shallow Lake team and fought through adversity to pull out a hard fought 4-3 win. With two wins under their belt the Wolfpack looked to finish the group stage out with a good game against Wallaceburg. The players fought hard and pulled out a 1-1 tie.
After the group stage the Wolfpack found themselves 2nd overall in the tournament and earned themselves a bye to the Semi-Final against Ilderton. The players came flying out of the gate and jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Ilderton not ready to limp out of the tournament mounted a strong comeback, but Paris rallied as a group and held on to win the game 3-2 and moved on to the final against Tavistock. In the final Tavistock jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and held on for a 3-1 win.
Although Paris didn’t win the tournament the players played a wonderful tournament. The coaching staff are very proud of the players for their hard work all weekend!!!
