Jackson earns game winning goal
Our Wolfpack didn’t let a little snow, freezing rain, wind, rain stop them from traveling to Burford for an away game ... it definitely slowed our convoy down, in addition, many of us had to detour and recon figurate our GPS’ to get around some road closures; fortunately, we all made it in good time.

Our game started off according to Coach Bob’s plans as Spencer made a poke check play in our zone off of a Burford defenceman and a foot chase pursuit that couldn’t catch up to Spencer who went in one on one against their goalie and forcing him to the left and a last second stick deek to his right earning Paris’s first goal of the game.

Into the second period both teams were holding tight to one another; fortunately, for our team off of a face off in our opponents zone that was won by Jaden and a pass back by Evan to Jackson whose slap shot beat Coyotes goaltender.  This goal was Jackson’s first of the season and one to remember as it was a perfect top right hand corner goal that left everyone jaw dropping in amazement.  Only later would he learn how valuable this goalie would be as it become the game winning goal.

The second period was plagued with penalties on both teams, this would only intensify and carry over onto the third period making the game a little heated to say the least.

Our boys carried on with their game winning intentions and played on blocking shots in our zone and fast drives up the ice into Burford’s zone.  Deryk may snow plow on the roads in Brantford but on the ice with his large stature he plows through players on ice to reach our opponents net, earning him some close scoring and passing chances.

Riley McHutchion didn’t disappoint on a great breakaway opportunity as he gained a picture perfect, bar down goal, making this his official signature style of goals.

Our goaltender Caleb played another fantastic game and was 1:41 seconds close to a shut out; unfortunately, Burford’s #14 player drew a blazing shot that was unattainable to stop.  This same player was shut down numerous times earlier in the game by Caleb, including a play in which our team were killing off two penalties and Jackson, in trying to ice the puck, was intercepted; fortunately, he rushed back and stopped their breakaway chance.

Congratulations to all of our players on a hard fought game and claiming a second won game in a row.
