Twas the night before Christmas for Paris Wolfpack's Midet LL4 team
Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the arena not a single Zamboni was running, not since the previous evening.

Midget LL4’s equipment were hung up by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas would  deodorize their ware.

The players were resting from the first half of the season, and were doing their hockey rituals for all the right reasons.

As did Caleb removing his goalie mask, to expose his hair, said to himself I am going to condition and brush a 1,000 times, if I dare

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, Kaleb Marin was perfecting his slap shots caused all this matter

Peering down the road, what to my wondering eyes should appear, Riley McLelland driving a Ford Ranger

With a husky passenger, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Deryk

And he whistled, and shouted and call’d them names, one more word from you and you’ll get 3 games, retorted each ref and linesman.

As for you Noseworthy and Shipp here is a stop clock, use it while in the penalty box and don’t leave a second earlier or you will be docked

Now! Josh H, now! Riley Mc now! Cameron to the dressing room you must go, as we are on in 2 minutes, didn’t you know?

Recalling back in the dressing room, game plans were called, a count of missing players dictated our game would have to be stalled.

Call Harveys and Swiss Chalet do anything to get our players here, even if this meant calling Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats or delivery, thanks dear!

Head Coach Bob, Assistant Coach Terry, Trainers Greg and Krista and Manager Greg showing confidence in our boys are looking forward to a successful new year.

With the house cold Lar-dog, would add, to the fire, another log.

Away in Delhi, huddled in his family room, Josh Racette would go online to find his team mates wherever they may loom.

Call of Duty, Black Ops and Fortnite to name a few, most of our players are playing on queue.

Equipped with headsets, controllers in hand and staring into 55 inch HD screen tvs, Fletcher would be oblivious to hear, coming down the chimney St. Nicholas’ cheers.

He was dress’d in Wolfpack and Bauer gear, to protect his aged, wrinkly, old rear,

A bundle of electronics were flung on his back, he looked like a Best Buy salesman clearing his store rack

His eyes – mesmerized by Lucas’ speed on the rink! His dimples’ approval as succint

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry, in the eyes of a goalie Jacksons slap shot is scary!

He spoke not a word, pointing in amazement at Jonah’s points in the stats was preferred.

And fill’d all the players stockings;

  • A chin strap for Caleb’s loose fitting helmet
  • Stick tape for Jaden
  • New skate laces for Riley McHutchion
  • A new unbreakable hockey stick for Jackson
  • A skate sharpening card for Spencer
  • Celebratory etiquette hockey book for Kaleb
  • A day pass from Harveys for Fletcher
  • A miraculous, quick recovery wish for Jonah
  • 2 more stat points for Lucas so that he can become the second rated points player on our team
  • A new mouth guard for Deryk
  • A passing grade on the upcoming G1 test for Evan
  • A top corner goal from the point for Cameron in the next game, which he has been perfecting over practices
  • An immunity penalty card for Riley McLelland
  • A rematch game against Delhi Rockets for Josh R
  • A new download list of music for Josh H to play in the dressing room

And laying his finger aside of his nose, and giving a nod up the chimney he rose.

He sprung to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew, like the down of a thistle;

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight –

Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Oh and a happy birthday to Evan, Kaleb and Spencer on each of your 16th birthdays!

Go Wolfpack Go!

Kevin Noseworthy – adapted the “Twas the Night Before Christmas Poem”

(One of the oldest and most popular Christmas poems ever, commonly referred to as “Twas The Night Before Christmas,” was written in the early 19th century.

Though its author is disputed, with the poem being attributed to both Clement Clarke Moore and Henry Livingston Jr. over the years, it was definitely first published on Dec. 23, 1823 in the Troy Sentinel newspaper in upstate New York.)
