Paris Wolfpack Collide in Head-to-Head Hometown Thriller!!!
Last week was once again a busy one for the LL2 crew as they were scheduled to hit the ice 4 days straight!  However, an unexpected change in Thursday night' plan to travel to Langton to face their Leafs; 'Old Man Winter' blew in cancelling the game giving The Pack a little extra rest!

Game 10 - Wolfpack LL1 vs. Wolfpack LL2

The crew had a fundamental practice and light skate with some team bonding Friday preparing themselves for Saturday's afternoon matinee against the other home-town team from Paris, Atom LL1.  This always brings natural competition, from the school yard to the ice, and both teams gave the capacity crowd FULL of Mom's & Dads, Grandma's & Grandpa's, family & friends, a barn burner that had a full house at the edge of their seats in a GREAT afternoon hockey game!!

This game had it ALL with both home town teams rising to the occasion!  A HUGE highlight was the fantastic goal tending duel from LL1 Carson Kolisnyk and ours truly Callum-the-Cat!! Both boys put on a display as it if was Frederick Anderson vs. Carey Price in the pro's with Carson stopping break-away's and one-timer's and 'The Cat' flashing the leather with some MONSTER glove hand saves like he was catching mice!

Right off the bat we knew we were in for a DOOZIE when Digger Atkinson POUNDED a one-timer off a pass from line-mate 'Ovi' Robinson that rang off the post SO LOUD it was heard at Tim Horton's down the road!  The action was end-to-end with BOTH teams exchanging chances until finally, LL2 broke through the wall Carson had put up as K-Man (Canaan Sherbino) potted a BEAUTY 'upstairs where momma keeps the cookies' with Digger and Ovi drawing the assists.  That would be the only tally in the first as the GOALIES took over!

It wasn't until half way through the 2nd when LL1 equaled the scoring on a nice breakaway move 'The Cat' had NO chance on.  The LL2 team would strike again through late in 2nd on a beauty one-timer by Ovi after some hard work and the Digger refusing to be stopped in the corner, getting the puck to Turbo who layed out a 'pass on a plate' that Ovi drove home making it 2-1 for LL2.

Going into the 3rd...all I can say is 'WOW' what a 3rd!!  Both teams exchanged chances and at times, with a little luck or if not for some HUGE saves, it could've been 2 or 3 up for either side.  The LL1 crew FINALLY cracked The Cat's determination to close the door with Jack Ward, once again, finding a loose puck that sprung him alone in on the goalie.  He made no mistake to tie the game.

The battle continued until late in the 3rd with Grant DeBelleval picking a blocked shot from David S, who fired a Howitzer, bar down, that I barely saw giving LL1 their first lead of the game and would be enough to win while having to hold off a FURIOUS attack by LL2 completing a FANTASTIC game on BOTH sides!!

Even though there can only be one winner on the score board, BOTH teams were VERY evenly matched and the game could've gone either way at any given time.

With both teams leaving it ALL on the ice; I would personally like to say 'Thank You'.  It was a great hockey game both to watch and to be a part of leaving everyone PROUD to be part of the Paris Wolfpack community.

The Golden Jersey could've gone to EVERY player on LL2 team in my eyes as it was a COMPLETE game!  From the Forwards to 'Callum-The-Cat' at his finest, to the Wolfpack Wall doing their job!  Continuing the D run with the Golden Jersey, Crusher passed it to Isaac G who was VERY solid all game long.  He worked hard clearing the zone, holding the offensive line and playing with a real EDGE - Most definitely his BEST performance to date!  Great job Isaac!!

After a tough and emotional game Saturday, there was no time to rest as the Wolfpack LL2 had to be ready to go again Sunday afternoon, resetting and ready to take on a strong Ingersol team.

Game 11 - Paris Wolfpack vs. Ingersol Express 2

The impact of Saturday's game showed early as The Pack came out sluggish and not themselves, moving the puck like a hot potato and with heavy legs, it took a while for the team to get sorted out.  They fell behind in the first but it may have been just what the Doctor ordered as that got K-Man fired up and on a scoring MISSION!  He was able to find great finish to light the lamp giving the Ingersol goalie a sun burn as he not only completed a natural Hattie but added a 4th to boot!!

Don't kid yourself as we know goals are not possible without a TEAM effort!  The first one by the K-Man was off a breakaway pass off the boards by David S who once again had a great solid effort offensively and defensively, and by Isaac grabbing an assist.   All The Pack began to howl as the 'Office man' Jacob B added 2 helpers. David M found some life of his own as he had great hussle and puck attack which earned him a helper.  AJ' board work and steam rolling after the loose pucks, picked him up an assist also, to make the score 4-2 late in the 2nd.

Ingersol drew close again getting a great hockey bounce their way making this a tight 4-3 game heading into the 3rd.  With close checking and both teams all fired up, playing solid defence in the 3rd, the Wolfpack Wall stood STRONG!  Ryan Q made some great offensive plays at center and AJ filling in with a short bench doing a great job adjusting to the defensive position.  Taylor, Isaac and Crusher continued to do what they've been doing all season long, standing tall with confidence but knowing the have The Cat behind them if anything snuck through.

This tight game continued back and forth until Digger and Ovi also decided to get in on the scoring action!  They sent Turbo in on his second break away in the same shift, this time making NO mistake, freezing the goalie with a quick wrister and putting the icing on the cake - sealing the victory 5-3!

This completed a GREAT weekend of hockey!  The Pack showed great teamwork and great TEAM character giving them once again, a split weekend, and a SOLID record on the season so far!

Now, with confidence heading away this weekend to a Tourny in Dresden, they will try to grab some HARDWARE! Guaranteed they'll have lots of fun together enjoying pizza, pool time and mini-sticks!  With a light practice Wednesday and some coaching tips to keep this crew developing; they will no doubt be ready!  With 8 teams in the division and only ONE final, the Pack will need to be firing on ALL cylinders...  This writer looks forward to updating our followers with our play-by-plays and achievements this weekend!  GO PACK GO!!!

Until then....remember...'Keep your stick on the ICE'
