Wolfpack Atom LL2 - Game 8 & 9...Nov. 10/11
Hello there Wolfpacker's, friends, family and FANS!!

Last weekend (November 10/11) saw the Wolfpack rolling alone splitting weekend games with solid efforts!

Game 8 - Paris Wolfpack vs. Delhi Rockets

Saturday November 10, saw the Wolfpack in a clash at home with the Delhi Rockets.  Riding a 2 game win streak the team was filled with confidence!  They hit the ice after a team meeting and some 'board hockey 101' by Imlach Stewart on zone play and team bonding - it was GAME TIME!!!

The Pack came out firing on all cylinders as the line of Turbo Stewart, Digger Atkinson and Ovi Robinson marked the first notch on the board only 9 seconds in! Turbo showed the fans how he got his nickname, blasting around the opposing center, splitting their D and frazzling the goaler with a 'snapper' to bury the biscuit, waking Babcock Sinclair with a ROAR from the crowd as he was busy giving a 'bench speech' to the other 'Packer's!

The Pack struck again very quickly, just 44 seconds later, with the K-Man (Canaan Sherbino) adding a break away goal of his own, unassisted to put the Pack up 2-0; all before the Rockets could even make their first line change!  They were not done yet making it 3-0 only 3 minutes into the second, again by the K-Man who had his legs moving all day long with assists going to Jake-the-Snake (Jacob Horsfall) and Isaac G with a strong pass after holding the offensive zone blue line.  It must've been Implach' (GM Doug Stewart) '101' before the game - Isaac GOT IT!  Great Job!!

Now 3-0 the Rockets pushed back scoring one of their own to make it 3-1.  Thinking they had some life, the Rockets pushed back HARDER but to no avail as the 'Wolfpack Wall' was at the top of their game!  Taylor D, Crusher Sinclair, Isaac G, David S with Ryan Q and Camryn G would have none of it, snuffing out any chance that would appear in the D-Zone clearing the puck out and ahead to our forwards in the neutral zone.  Once in the offensive zone, holding the blue line, the offense put tremendous pressure on the Rockets who were getting tired and worn down as they knew it was a matter of time the Wolfpack would STRIKE again!

And that we did with K-Man completing the natural Hat-trick, a multiple for him this season!  Coach Dailey is running out of HATS to throw on the ice!!  The assists went to Jack A who dug in at the end of his shift clearing the puck out and to Jacob B who was in 'his office' out front almost potting it himself before K-Man.  The Pack was now 4-1 heading into the 3rd!

Delhi was beaten but not broken as the first half of the 3rd period saw them get new life and push back HARD at the Pack!  Whenever they were able to sneak by the 'Woldpack Wall', staring them down was the one and only, Callum-the-Cat Dailey with another solid game, turning back everything they put at him to hold the score at 4-1.  Late in the 3rd Digger Atkinson potted 2 back-to-back markers 1:30 apart on some HARD WORK and determination to LIGHT THE LAMP!  Great passing from his teammates Turbo, Ovi on the first one and out a bit too long on his second, he found himself in the right place at the right time to bang in the loose puck - assists for this one went to both AJ and Ryan Q with great rushing effort!  This deflated the Rockets bid at a comeback pushing the score to 6-1 where it would stay until the horn went!

This pushed the Pack' win streak to 3 games, ALL of which have been solid TEAM efforts!!  The Wolfpack have been learning and developing nicely in the process...

Game 9 - Paris Wolfpack vs. Waterford Wildcats 2

There was no time for a Sunday lunch time buffet and only minutes after observing a minute of silence to pay our respects on this Remembrance Day, the pack was right back at it facing a strong Waterford team.  The Pack would be challenged as they'd seen a lot of ice over a few days as well contend with a short bench.

After coach Babcock was denied a Birth Certificate check on #29; it was time for puck drop and what a GAME it was!!  Both teams were fired up - the pace was Hot and Heavy with end-to-end action keeping everyone busy on the ice, the benches and in the stands cheering!

Once again The Pack struck early, 1 min in with AJ smacking in a rebound in front of the net and having his BEST game of the season so far, in this writers eyes, playing alongside K-Man and Jacob B who both got assists.  Coach Babcock had to tinker with line ups due to being short staffed with players.  The Wildcats would tie it up half way through the first after some great hockey and many missed chances on both sides.  Who knows what the score would've been if not for some FANTASTIC D, some missed opportunities and each tender SLAMMIMG the door when needed.

The Pack would regain the lead with just 4 seconds left in the first when Turbo once again on his horse, streaking up the left side placing a shot not even Freddie Anderson would have handled on a great pass from Digger who received a 'headmanning-the-puck' pass from new line mate David M just like it is SUPPOSED to be done!  This gave the Pack a 2-1 lead into the second.

The second period brought a crazy chain of events with solid defence by the 'Wolfpack Wall' and good goaltending by The Cat Dailey.  The puck would not go in for them, a combination of missed chances and bad bounces the hockey Gods would not allow them to stretch their lead and saw #29, who was taller than me,  with a 'Phil Kessel wrister' score 3 unanswered goals to make it a 4-2 game.

The Pack pushed back but the biscuit would not cross the line for them!  A short bench and lots of ice time in a few short days, The Pack is strong but not INVINCIBLE!  With their legs starting to look like 'TWIZZLER' licorice, they refused to surrender even after another lucky one by #29 who now had 4.  The Pack answered back with AJ fearlessly out front getting HIS second of the game assisted by K-Man and 'The Office Man' Jacob B bringing the score to 5-3.

The Wildcats sensing victory late in the game were able to get a lucky bounce on a deflection pushing the score 6-3 but this Wolfpack team had FIGHT!  Still coming on and pushing through everything, the K-Man took a pass from linemate AJ who grabbed a great clearing effort by Camryn G to get the puck up the boards and out of our zone.  This set K-Man (Canaan Sherbino) free, making no mistake 'bulging the twine' this time to bring on an exciting finish to a GREAT hockey game.

The score now 6-4 with 2:52 to go; The Pack pushed forward JUST missing some great chances with the Wolfpack Faithful's cheering LOUD and gripping their seats hoping for a comeback.  On this day, it would not be so as the Wildcats were able to have Hockey luck on their side with another bad break in the last seconds, they sealed a 7-4 win.

The scoreboard did not tell the tale of the great gutsy effort by our Wolfpack who showed ALL of us including themselves that no matter what is thrown at them...they NEVER give up!

The Golden jersey was passed from Taylor D to her partner, Crusher Logan Sinclair showing how and why he wears the 'A' on his shoulder.  He showed great leadership and determination leading his team by example and giving 110% in not just this game...but EVERY game!  He played solid defence clearing the puck out of the zone and adding offensive rushes throughout the game as well as standing tall on the blue line forcing offensive pressure.  He even looked like a goalie at times, blocking shots helping out 'The Cat'!  Keep it up CRUSHER!!

The team will have a few days to rest their legs before getting back to the dressing room to catch the second half of Imlach' Hockey '101' to give them the tools to get back into the winning column with another back-to-back weekend of games!

Signing off for now....remember to 'Keep your stick on the ICE'!

Coach Stan...(AKA 'Frankie')
