Paris Peewee Rep Move On To SCMHA 'A' Pool Final!
The Paris Peewee Rep Team laid it all on the line Thursday night and defeated the visiting Tillsonburg Tornadoes 4-2.
Thursday March 21st, 2019. It came down to lose and you're done or win and move on to face the winner of Caledonia and Simcoe in the 'A" Pool Southern Counties Final.
The talk before the game was all about being in the moment and putting everything they had into this game, not knowing what could happen next year or the year after and taking the opportunity while it was staring the Paris Team in the face. They did exactly that!!
The boys played one of their strongest 1st periods of the year and were rewarded on a goal by Austin P. Assist would go to Alex B and Simon O. Some solid play from netminder Brendan S helped solidify a 1-0 lead going into period number 2.
The second period would see Paris go up 2-0 on a nice goal by Simon O. Alex B made a nice feed and Simon would not make a mistake and burry the biscuit. Tillsonburg would get a step closer and make it 2-1 before periods end, Paris would have a 2-1 lead going into the 3rd and 15 minutes away from going to the final.
Evan B would get a PP goal with a nice wrist shot to be the Tillsonburg goalie glove side. Owen H and Alex B would get the helpers along the way. Tillsonburg would get a PP goal of their own and make it 3-2. Austin P would seal the win and make it 4-2 with Alex B and Harry P assisting on the play. Paris was moving on.
The coaching staff was very proud of the way the boys played. Every single player played important roles and came through when needed. Whether it being making a strong play on the boards, blocking shots, drawing penalties or great team play, each player was there each step of the way. Bring the same effort to the final and they'll have a great chance at being champs. Good work boys!!
The final will be played in Hagersville on March 31st. The game time has yet to be determined. GO WOLFPACK GO!!!
