Paris loses in semis at Bobby Orr Tourney
Although Paris didn't come out as the winners, the coaching staff feels the boys had a successful tournament in Parry Sound.

Hockey wasn't the only thing on everyone's mind this past weekend.  It was also about having loads of fun and making memories.

Paris would play Parry Sound Friday night and come up a little short, losing 4-1.  The game was a little closer than what the score shows aa two of the goals came within the last minute and a half of the hockey game.  The coaching staff pointed out to the team that team play was needed to succeed or else the tournament would be short lived and the boys would be done Saturday night.

The boys would return to the hotel Friday night with a 10pm curfew as the boys would play at 8am Saturday morning.  The boys would swim, play mini sticks, play some man hunt and call it a night.  The parents would have a couple of "pops" but were very well behaved.

Saturday would come and the boys would play some of their best performances of the year.  Everyone would contribute in one way or another and the boys would come out of the 8am game with a 6-2 win over Chatsworth.  The players would take it easy for a few hours and play later at 1pm.  Some would have a nap, some would do some team bonding, some would do some touring through the city.  The boys would play Temiskaming in their third game and walk away with a solid 6-0 victory.  This insured them a spot in the semis against Collingwood.

Although there was a curfew of 11pm Saturday night, the boys had lots of time for fun and games.  The team had rented a community room for the team, where they could play mini sticks and where there would be a team meal Saturday night.  There were a lot of laughs and good times Saturday night.  The parents were treated to a nice surprise from Steve D, one of the boys' parents.  Steve would play the guitar, ukulele and harmonica and treat everyone with some great singing and music.  Laura B even joined in for a duet, where she did quite well.  As the night went on, many "pops" were consumed, without no one getting out of hand...……..well almost no one.  Chris P showed off some of his mini stick skills and showed us why his son Austin has those "crazy" legs of his at times. Chris was very intense and set the tone versus the Cochrane Bantam team. Coach Cory would play in the pipes and tire easily as he doesn't quite have the stamina of some of the "older" coaching staff. Head Coach Sean would replace Cory in the pipes for the deciding game.  Unfortunately, someone would sabotage the Coach's "pop" and it would leak out the side of the can, causing an emergency.  The score was 1-1 at the time but the fluids couldn't go to waste. The coach would not only continue tending the pipes, he would try and drink the fluid being lost through the side of the can.  This was not a good idea as Cochrane would put one in short side, making it 2-1. From there I guess it was game over.  There was a lot of finger pointing going on but I think it had to do with a lot of soft play along the boardroom walls by the "giggler" Lisa K.  The night went on and everyone had a good time.  The boys made their curfew and were pumped for the morning.

The boys got to the rink and played their hearts out.  You could tell they wanted it but at the same time you could see they were a bit tired from the busy weekend.  There would be no scoring in the first.  Paris would score the first one to go up 1-0.  The bench and Paris crowd went ecstatic.  Collingwood would tie things up and the teams would be 1-1 going into the third. Collingwood would make it 2-1 early in the third.  Paris would come close a few times and had no quit.  They were unable to complete the comeback and tip their hats to Collingwood as they were a very good team as well.

The coaches were very proud of the boys and their behaviour at and away from the rink.  Paris will get back into league play on Friday, when they're in Aylmer.  See you at the rink!! GO WOLFPACK GO!!
