Paris loses in Final at Rob Johnston Memorial
Paris played well enough this pass weekend to make it to the finals at the Rob Johnson Memorial but came up short in the final.

The Peewee Optimist Reps had a fairly successful weekend but we're unable to take the championship.  To date, these were some of the tougher teams that Paris had met to this point of the hockey season.  Some would say the team that won (Wallaceburg), was one of the best in Ontario at this age group.

Paris started with a 2-2 tie versus Shelburne.  The Wolfpack had them 2-1 with less than a minute to go but would allow Shelburne to tie the game late.

Paris would now face Wallaceburg.  Paris would have a tough go in the first game versus the eventual champs.  Paris went almost 15 minutes before getting their first shot.  Paris would play better from that point on but still came up short in a 3-1 loss.

Paris' third game of the tournament was decided early.  Paris would win this game with ease versus North Middlesex, 8-2.  Solid team play is what lead the team to victory.  This was enough to send Paris to the semis on Sunday, where the would play North Middlesex all over again.

North Middlesex would put up a good fight but again with solid team play Paris would win the game 4-1.  Paris was off to the finals!!

The boys would all have their stick blades taped up with pink tape for the final game.   One of the boys had lost their grandmother over the weekend and the team thought it would be a great idea to show their support for their teammate. The boys would play a pretty good hockey game with some solid chances but would lose 3-1.  This is where there is proof that the hockey isn't always just about hockey.  Yes a hockey game was played but there was more to this story.  This was about being a team of "brothers" and pulling together in a time of need.  I as a coach was very proud of all of our boys in how they supported our player that had experienced a family loss.  This can only make these young gentlemen stronger as people moving forward.

The Wolfpack will be back in action Friday night in Paris where they will take on Simcoe @ 8:20.  See everyone at the rink!!
