Peewee AE Place 4th In Georgian Shores Rep Tournament
Last weekend, the Wolfpack travelled up north to take place in the Georgian Shores Fall Classic. Being a rep tournament and us being an AE team, we didn't know what to expect, but the boys showed just how good they can be, and placed 4th out of 8 rep teams!
Although our first game wasn't until 9pm Friday night, some of us seemed to be in a bit of a rush to get up there. Right Chris.. After a team dinner at East Side, we headed over to the rink to play our 1st game against the host team, Georgian Shores. It was clear from the drop of the puck that our boys were there to compete. We took control of the game early and never let it go. The speed of the rep team showed and the boys knew they had to step up their game, and they did an excellent job, and skated to a 3-1 win. Player of the game was Owen H.
In our 2nd game, we faced off against a very strong team from Lucan. Prior to the game we had 3 players taken part in the tournament shoot-out. Lucas R, Simon O, and Caiden G. All 3 represented Paris and had strong showings. Way to go boys!
After a short break, we were back at it, and ready to face off with Lucan. We started strong, but the Lucan team was a little to much to handle in the early stages and we found ourselves down 3-0 by the end of the 1st. The 2nd period started off the same way the 1st ended, with Lucan controlling the game and finding the back of our net 2 more times, and went up 5-0. After that 5th goal, we seemed to find another gear, and slowly started to get more chances and began controlling the game. In the 3rd the boys pinned Lucan in their zone and were the fresher and stronger looking team, but were only able to put 1 puck past the keeper. Player of the game was Nathan M.
Back at the hotel, and waiting to see who we would be facing for 3rd place, the boys decided to cool off in the pool, and team manager Paul B, thought it would be a good idea to join them. Bad idea Paul, bad idea...
In our 3rd game, we faced off against the Strathroy Rockets, in a game that could of gone either way. The boys fought hard and with a little puck luck, we could of came out on top. After 3 hard fought and evenly matched periods, it was the Rockets that came out on top and won the game 3-1. Player of the game was Luke B.
In a tournament full of Rep teams, being the lone AE team, I think we showed extremely well and placed 4th. What a great tournament and a great weekend... Great job.. Noah S, Tyler A, Matt L, Owen H, Austin P, Simon O, Alex B, Caiden G, Julian V, Tyler G, Owen T, Luke B, Nate M, Lucas R.
Next up we are going PINK, when we face off against New Hamburg on Friday Nov. 17th. Come on out to the BSC in Paris and cheer us on well dressing in PINK. All proceeds going to the Cancer Society.
