Very successful tournament
From the desk of GM Stewy:

The boys had a successful tournament in Walkerton over the weekend on and off the ice. Fun was had by all, from spirited mini stick games to an afternoon in the pool with moms as life guards. The Holiday Inn was very accommodating giving the boys the use of a conference room for mini sticks and use of the breakfast room for a pizza party plus red solo cups to parents upon arrival...you cant beat that hospitality. The Novice LL1 played five games in total in a little over a 24 hour span and they gave it there all throughout, the coaches and parents were very proud of their hard work.

The first game against New Hamburg was 6-2 for us and in the afternoon we beat Brussels 8-3 with Ryan Q showing off his goaltending skills as are regular netminder Callum D had a bad burger for lunch...excellent fill in job flyin Ryan! The pizza party Saturday night was hosted by the Darlings and it was greatly appreciated by all...GM Stewy was not aware there was a 11:30 curfew and the booked entertainment "Fat Tongue Frankie" was low key also. Sunday morning bright and early the boys took on a stellar team from Hanover and the Hanover team squeaked out a 4-4 tie with Paris boys with a little help from the refs...in this reporters 30 years on the beat I have never seen a goal called back and then that team given a penalty on the same play with both refs not putting up their hands to indicate a infraction...I pretty sure the other coaches made the call....oh well onward and upward. Next up West Gray who Paris was toying with and came out on top with a 4-3 win...off to the semi finals...Kincardine was the top dog in the tourney not losing a game to this point. In an exciting back and forth game with chances galore for both teams Kincardine edged out the Paris boys 3-2 when it was all said and done (never seen a novice player kicked out of a faceoff either) they went on to win the tourney.  The coaches were super proud of these fine young hockey players who gave it their all every shift and every game...everybody contributed throughout the 5 games so I am giving the team the MVP award...congrats boys great job by everybody...next home game Sunday 1:30 vs those pesky Pirates from Port Dover...tell your neighbors and tell your friends to come on over and watch some exiting grass roots hockey at it's best...see you then.
