Wolfpack Slip by the Warriors
In a possible preview of the OMHA play-offs, Paris and Simcoe squared off for the 3rd time this season on Thursday night.  Paris won the first game by a 4-3 score and the teams tied 2-2 ten days ago.  The Wolfpack have been riding a high for the past two weeks and were looking to extend their streak of well played games.

Two minutes into the first period Josh P and Andrew G broke in on a two on one.  Josh waited for the d-man to commit to him and then quickly fed a nice pass over to a wide open Andrew in front of the goal, who scored to give Paris a 1-0 lead.  The teams played tight to the vest through much of the first period limiting the scoring  chances on each side.

In the second period, Andrew returned the favour by finding a streaking Josh on the right side.  Josh was able to break in off the wing and make a nice move to give Paris a 2-0 lead three minutes into the 2nd period.  Paris was able to kill off a Simcoe power play midway through the 2nd and held a 2-0 heading into the final minute of the period.  Simcoe kept the pressure on and finally cracked the Wolfpack defence and cut the lead to 2-1 with 35 seconds to play in the 2nd.

In the 3rd, Paris continued to move the puck well with a lot of nice passes that created a number of scoring chances.  Josh found some space two minutes into the 3rd to give the Wolfpack a 3-1 lead and then added his 3rd of the game with just under five minutes to play.

All four Paris goals had multiple assists which showed how well the team moved and shared the puck. Andrew and Scott H picked up two assists with singles going to Evan, Josh, Ryker and Tyler.  The line of Ryker, Carson and Tyler moved the puck well and created a number of good scoring chances, only to be stymied by the strong play of the Simcoe goalie.

The defence core of Evan, Jared, Cam and Drew continued their great play on the back end and were up to the task each time Simcoe threatened.

Evan G was named the 'WOTG' for his great play on the blueline.  Evan was a strong defensive force for the Wolfpack, who chipped in with an assist on the opening goal and was a +3 for the game.

Up next for the Wolfpack is a back to back set next Wednesday and Thursday night.  Paris heads down the 403 to face off with the league leading Caledonia Thunder on Wednesday night (6pm) before returning home to host the Tavistock Titans on Thursday night (6pm).
