Novice Wolfpack Win Home Opener
The Novice Rep Wolfpack returned to the ice on Thursday night for their home opener, looking to get back into the win column.

Paris hit the ice flying and got off to a strong start.  Ryker, Carson V and Tyler set the tone early with a strong shift that resulted in a couple of scoring chances.  They finally broke through when Josh P found the back of the net with the assist going to Scott H.  The Wolfpack kept the pressure up and increased their lead to 2-0 as Andrew G slid home a rebound.  Tyler R and Cam C picked up the assists.

The Simcoe Warriors were not going to lay down and found their legs late in the first period and carried it over to the 2nd.  Simcoe cut the lead in half 30 seconds into the 2nd frame.  The teams traded chances through out the 2nd but neither team was able to find the back of the net.

The line of Ryker, Carson and Tyler continued to fly around the puck to start the 3rd.  They were finally rewarded as they found the back of the net two minutes into the 3rd when Ryker converted a pass from Drew W.  The Wolfpack, thinking things were home and cooled out, lost focus for forty seconds which allowed Simcoe to score twice and tie the game at three.  After trading a couple of chances, Josh P picked up a strong clearing pass from Jared B and made a nice move to pick up his second of the game.  The team defence took over from there and limited Simcoe to only a couple scoring chances over the last six minutes.

Carson K was strong in goal stopping 15 shots as the team defence limited Simcoe to only one breakaway on the night.  Evan, Cam, Jared and Drew each played their best game of the young season on defense and they took a great big step in their positioning.  Up front, the forwards continued to create chances with Carson V playing another strong game on the heels of his four points in Ingersoll.  Scott H played a great two-way game back checking hard and supporting the D. It was a great team effort and a nice way for the kids to head into the Thanksgiving holiday.

Cam C was named the WOTG for his strong play on the puck and great positioning on the defensive end.

Up next for the Wolfpack is a road game in Caledonia on Wednesday night before returning home to play Tavistock on Thursday.
