Bantam Reps Storm out of the gate
The Paris Reps opened up their season October 4 after a grinding and rigorous training camp. Lead on the bench by Wayne (fastalker) Byrne as the head coach, Tyler (the toothless wonder) Pelton and Dan (the Man) McHutchion as his capable assistants the boys travelled to Tavistock to take on the mighty Titans. The team took to the ice without sophomores James (the Hitman) Holmes and Wyatt (Earp) Collings both suffering pre-season injuries. Also missing from action was Ethan (Big D) Campbell also on the injured reserve.

After taking the first period to adjust to newly formed lines the boys came out in the second and started to gel right from the drop of the puck. Logan (Garbage Picker) Byrne had two goals with assists going to (Lucky) Luke Rathbone and Matt (Magic Hands ) Burns. It was a see-saw battle going into the third with (Wild) William Elliott scoring just 6 seconds into the frame off a beautiful deep end feed from Josh ( The Hammer) Zavitz. Tavy came back to tie it in a squeeker and the mighty Wolfpack left the Titans barn with a 3-3 draw.
Next up and a back to back tilt the Pack travelled to Tillsonburg. It was perceived that Coach Pelton may indeed put his tooth in as a gesture of well dress but no such luck. As our newly appointed head trainer (Blinky) Bill Zavitz stated you can't teach an old dog new tricks. The boys played a hard fought game driven with deep intensity and once again skated away with a 3-3 tie. Scoring for Paris were Ewan ( Mad Rusher ) Reston, Garbage Picker Byrne and Wild William Elliott .Magic Matt Burns and Rusher Reston picked up the assists
After the game Coach Fastalker Byrne was said to give a very sentimental speech to the boys its just a shame no one could really understand what he said. Blinky Zavitz is said to be enrolled in the languages of the down east program at the Laurier campus in Brantford with high hopes of becoming a certified Level one translator.
October the sixth saw Norwich travel to Paris for our home opener. This was one heck of a hockey match a hard fought battle which really could have seen either team prevail. The Paris Wolfpack showed why they are one of the most revered teams in the Southern Counties loop, the boys playing good old fashioned hockey and not backing down from any physical play. Blinky Bill Zavitz was on the edge of his bench all night fully prepared to administer any player physical repair and we are so fortunate to have Blinky signed for the next two years.
The Norwich goalie stood on his head and we lost this one by a one goal margin Wild William Elliott netting the lone marker with hard earned assists going to( Big) Ben Whiting and (Crazy Legs Connor Calliouw). It must be noted that even with this loss the boys now know that through blood and sweat they will always stand up for one another a lesson well learned on their own. Up next a week of practice and then back to game time the week of October the 17th.
