Intertown Play-off Update
The Novice Wolfpack LL1 team has been busy completing the first half of their A division play-offs.  Taking on the top teams from Intertown has brought out some the kids best hockey of the season.

After winning two of their first three games, LL1 was slated to face the top seeded Burford2 team at the BSC (aka- the Wolves Den).  The Wolfpack came out strong with a great team effort as they battled hard and earned a 5-4 win over Burford.  Carson V and Andrew G gave Paris a 2-1 lead after the first period.  Burford evened the game at three after two periods.  Carson K was strong in goal stopping three or four great chances.  The two teams traded goals at the mid-point of the third period.  Paris finally pulled ahead for good when Carson V scored with 2:06 to play.  The Wolfpack held on and handed Burford their first loss of the season against Intertown teams.  A strong team effort was displayed by all and the coaches could not pick a "Worker of the Game" as all contributed to the big win.

After the big win, Paris returned to action against the Langton Leafs.  The Wolfpack was slow out of the gate and the Leafs had a player who had pulled an Austin Matthews and scored five times.  Paris was unable to dig themselves out of the slow start and trailed the entire game.  They battled hard to get the score back to 5-3 heading into the third but they ran out of gas and a comeback was not in the cards.  Canaan S, Carson V and Logan H scored for the Wolfpack.

Coming of a tough loss to Langton, Paris headed down the highway to play Ingersoll3 for the first time since their tough 1-0 loss at the Lisa Dalpe tournament.  Both teams had some great chances but both goalies stood on their heads.  Carson K was working on his masonry profession and put up a solid brick wall on his way to a shut out.  Unfortunately, the offense was shut down as well and the Wolfpack left with a 0-0 tie and a tough one point.

The Wolfpack started a tough stretch on Friday night as they started run of seven games over ten days.  Paris traveled to Waterford to meet the Wildcats.  Waterford had beaten Paris in the regular season 4-2 so Paris was looking for payback.  Carson K and the team defence was solid again as they posted their 2nd straight shut out.  Playing with a short bench of 9 skaters, the Wolfpack protected their own zone and minimized any Wildcats' chances.  Meanwhile on the offensive end, Carson V and Preston J teamed up twice to give Paris a 2-0 lead.  Andrew G was johnny on the spot late in the third period when Scott H fired a shot on goal the puck squirted loose to Andrew who was charging hard to the goal.  The Wolfpack came home with a 3-0 win.

On Saturday morning, Paris hosted Ingersoll3 again for their final show down of the season.  Ingersoll would strike first late in the first period and carry a 1-0 lead into the second period.  In the 2nd, a strong Paris forecheck  allowed the Wolfpack to tie the game at one.  Andrew G did the dirty work on the hash marks to force the puck back behind the net.  Scott H won the puck battle behind the net a slide a nice pass out to Carson V who fired a quick wrist shot into the back of the net.  Paris had a final chance late in the third as they had a power-play with under two minutes to play, but they were unable to beat the strong goalie from Ingersoll.  Canaan S, Gabriel and Charlie all had strong games on defence.  The team worked hard to protect their house and came away with another important point.

At the half way mark of the play-off round robin, LL1 is sitting in 3rd play with 4 wins, 2 losses and 2 ties.  With five more games over the next 5 days, the Wolfpack will be in tough as they continue their battles against the top teams in Intertown.
