Results are in for our team's off-ice challenges
Over the last few weeks, our Bantam LL1 team participated in some fun off-ice challenges, this weekend we wrapped up our contest with the final challenge with a round of darts, between Ethan Crozier and Liam McAlister. It was a speed round game to 100+, Ethan threw the first two darts and Liam followed his lead, for the most part of the game, Liam led the score.

With his final attempt, Ethan saved his best darts for his last throw, hitting a triple score and earning 68 points, finishing with a score of 150, beating Liam’s respectful score of 113.  Ethan secured the final challenge win for his Team Shipp whose team earned this year’s off-ice challenge contest.  Excellent effort by Team Pakulis for their wins on the arm wrestling and fastest dressed in hockey equipment challenges won by Evan Scott and Austin Koehler, respectfully.

Other winners for Team Shipp, included Ethan Crozier for the NHL trivia, Braden for shooting accuracy and Evan Shipp for blackjack. (See a collage of some off-ice challenge photos, below)

Congratulations to all players in participating on these challenges which provided a lot of fun, comic relief and camaraderie among players, coaches and families.  My personal favourite challenge was the team tug of war that took place during our Welland tournament weekend that had each team winning a round, a tie breaker round had to be deferred to a later date, since we had to go play our last tournament game.  I have a feeling that our tug of war rematch will take place during our year end party, so beef up boys before the next big day!

This past Saturday, our boys travelled to St. George to play out our 2nd playoff game against the Generals; although, our team played well the outcome came as a surprise to many since our first encounter with the Generals was a one goal differential.

Our team returned to the ice the next day on Sunday for an exhibition game against the Simcoe LL2 Warriors team that we hosted at our Brant Sports Complex, this time our team had a renewed energy, aggression and focus.  The Warriors strong game, seemed to bring out the best in our players who responded with one of their best games, to date.

Job well done boys!
