Bantams show sings of excellence in North Bay
The Bantam boys had a strong showing as they travelled to North Bay on the weekend for their first tournament of the year. after going 3-0 in the round robin the wolf pack ended up top seed going into the play offs. In the semi final game sunday morning however the Paris boys just couldn't find their legs and bowed out to tournament host north bay.
In the first game of the tournament Friday night the Paris boys dominated Parry Sound from the get go skating to an 8-0 victory. the scoring was pretty spread around in this one and Jake F got the shut out and looked like a fox in net. Player of the game for paris in this one went to Austin R who never gets robbed. his father Rob R who also never gets robbed was very joyful at the hotel Saturday night even though hes battled a lower body injury for weeks. Other notable stand outs the game for paris were James H who felt right at holmes and Mathew B who never gets burned. The team on a whole moved the puck around excellently and showed great sportsmanship easing up in the third period on an out gunned opponent. The second game of the tournament was held at the memorial gardens in north bay vs the host north bay trappers. once again the paris boys started strong skating to a 4-2 victory on the big ice. Kyle S made several key saves to preserve the win for the boys in this one. Paris player of the game in this one was Peter, who keeps most of his food in the fridge. Peter set the tone early in the game up front making several big hits. other notables in this one were Captain obvious Evan D, who was steady eddy back there, his father and assistant coach Chris D was also steady eddy all weekend not allowing a single hang over. Payton M, who loves macdonalds big macs also played well in this one shifting to the center position. Linemate Kyle K was also solid in this one reaching the back of the net. Next the boys took on a mighty team from Elliott Lake in what has been their best game of the year by far. flying and hitting right from the get go. Preston B whos so cool he's burrrrr was flying every where laying hits and making plays. Dalton K stepped up midway through the game with a huge hit followed up by an even bigger goal. The game got a little physical but the paris boys came out on the right end of most hits. final score was 4-1 paris. Jake Z, who loves Lenny Kravitz was named player of the game for his strong play and good upbeat attitude on the bench. Other notables in this one for paris were Ashton J whos having a tremendous rookie season thus far, playing hard in both ends of the ice. The back end in this one was led by Connor C and Aiden C who loves Campbell's soup. And we can't leave out the big bad Jaedyn C on this one, he's so good he can turn from Clark kent to super man. his rocket from the point got the paris boys on the score board. And finally in the last game which was the semi final the boys game out a little on the flat end(coaching staff included) and bowed out to the home town North bay trappers. In the end every one had a great time. other notable fans were Cam M, who grew up idolizing Ronald macdonald, was an excellent in room host with wife Deb making several protein shakes for everyone but the kids. Kenny C was able to show all the rest of the parents his best side.
