PARIS WOLFPACK GO UNDEFEATED TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIP
Paris Atom AE wins Tillsonburg Memorial Tournament
Paris Wolfpack participated in the Bob Tansley Memorial AE Tournament over the weekend and didn't disappoint. Their first game of the tournament they squared off against Lambeth in which both teams exchanged goals early on Paris came out on top eventually earning them a hard fought 4-3 win. The next day we had a showdown with Hespeler Shamrocks in which was a very rough game but Paris would have no part of it winning 6-0 earning our goalie Lucas his first shut out. Next was a tough team from Elmvale but Paris was up for the challenge this was a must win for Elmvale and with a Paris player in the box with only 1:00 left in the game they decided to pull their goalie that's when Owen L put the puck in the open net soon not soon after that Emerson N sealed the deal with 5 seconds remaining Paris wins 2-0. That put Paris in 1st place in pool B setting up a Paris vs Listowel semi final. Paris got out to a quick lead as Owen L scored .45 seconds into the game the score remained 1-0 until Caiden G ripped a shot past the goalie to put Paris up 2-0 Owen L got his second of the game midway through the 3rd to give Paris a 3-0 lead. Listowel didn't give up though scoring 2 quick goals to cut the lead to 3-2 that's when Jack C found a loose puck at the side of the net and buried it Paris wins 4-2 and going to the championship. The championship game featured a rematch against Lambeth and Paris knew they were going to be hungry from their first loss but our boys came to play as well and went up 1-0 when Emerson N put one in Lambeth replied very quickly tying it up 1-1 they soon went ahead 2-1 but again our boys wouldn't quit and tied it 2-2 when Owen L ripped a shot from the slot past the goalie. Lambeth went up early in the second 3-2 but it was late in that period when our boys said enough is enough and Owen L with his second of the game rifled a shot past the keeper to tie it 3-3 soon after that Alex B went to the net hard and found himself a rebound to put Paris up 4-3 and didn't look back from there Lambeth had no answer for our aggressive play and solid defence as Owen L got his hat trick early in the 3rd putting Paris up 5-3 with 7:33 left in the 3rd Jack C with his strong play through out the tournament put it away scoring yet another goal Paris wins 6-3!!!!!
Coach: I am so proud of each and every one of you. Even though some us never found the score sheet its the little things and not just the scoring that wins championships. Everyone contributed someway/somehow I hope everyone enjoyed themselves this weekend as this is why we go into tournament so everyone including parents can have fun and so these boys can showcase their talents and that they did LETS BE PROUD OF THESE BOYS PARIS
