Carson “Burries” His First Ever Goal
Paris goaltender Carson B. gave his Mom an early Valentine’s present as he recorded his first goal of the season with 31 seconds remaining in the third period to seal a 5-3 victory for the Paris Atom Rep Wolfpack over the visiting Simcoe Warriors at the Brant Sports Complex on Thursday February 11th. With Simcoe pulling their goaltender and pressing for the tying goal in the final minute, Carson came up with a great pad save that ended up on the stick of a Simcoe player beside the Paris net. In trying to play the puck to their teammate, the puck traveled the length of the ice and into the net officially giving Carson his first goal of the season.

A slow start to the game by the Wolfpack saw Simcoe jump out to a 1-0 lead at the midpoint mark of the first period. Will M. replied for Paris with a solid individual effort, racing the length of the ice and fighting off two Simcoe defenders to even the score at 1-1 at the end of the first period. Ryan O. and Trevor K. recorded assists. Tyler G., with his 4th goal in the past 3 games, gave Paris a 2-1 lead early in the second period snapping a wrist shot into the top corner. Thomas K. earned the assist. Simcoe rallied to tie the game in the opening minutes of the third period. Will put Paris back into the lead midway through the 3rd period when he raced the length of the ice for a loose puck and somehow during the scramble the puck ended up in the Simcoe net. Simcoe again rallied to tie the score with less than 3 minutes remaining.  Simcoe appeared to take the lead moments later with a wrist shot to the top corner but the goal was disallowed for reasons we don’t know or care.  Will then scored his third of the night with less than two minutes left to put Paris into the lead for good.
